Its strongest measure continues to be military capability, for which it ranks 7th, an increase from 2023. North Korea is also strong in the resilience measure (ranked 9th) because of its nuclear deterrent capability.
North Korea exerts less influence in the region than expected given its available resources. Its negative power gap remained roughly the same as in the previous edition.
